A lug butterfly valve is a type of quarter-turn valve that controls the flow of a product in a pipeline. From pharmaceuticals to manufacturing and food processing, the lug butterfly valve has a variety of applications and can be used to limit solid, liquid, or gas material flow.

The lug butterfly valve’s design is similar to a 3-piece ball valve in that one end of the line can be taken off without having an effect on the opposing side. Lug butterfly valve can be made by using threaded inserts, flanges, along with two sets of lugs that don’t utilize nuts since each flange features its own bolts.
